Ben Oliva is a certified mental performance consultant and licensed mental health counselor. He specializes in mind coaching for athletes and performers seeking to maximize their potential using evidence-based mental skills training. Ben serves as the Director of Performance Coaching at SportStrata, a NYC based consulting group, where he helps to develop and deliver mental conditioning programs for sport and performance organizations across the country. In this role, Ben has served as a mental performance coach for the FDNY Mental Performance Initiative and Leadership Under Fire for more than five years. Prior to joining SportStrata, Ben worked for the mental skills group of the Boston Red Sox and served as an assistant coach at Williams College for the baseball and football programs, where he was also a two-sport varsity athlete. Ben received his master’s degree (EdM) in sport and performance counseling from Boston University and his undergraduate degree in psychology and astrophysics from Williams College. Ben currently lives in Charlotte, NC where he is the owner of Apex Performance Psych and is in his third-year as a doctoral student in Psychodynamic Child Psychology.
