LUF Complex Attack Think Tank

In the spring of 2017, Leadership Under Fire in conjunction with GRA Maven hosted a Complex Attack Think Tank to examine the complex attack threat to our nation’s urban settings.  A complex attack was identified as an attack involving an adversary who aggressively uses automatic weapons and/or improvised explosive devices (IED’s) and fire as a weapon system.  The Think Tank stimulated conversation and identified emerging trends and threats, identified gaps and vulnerabilities in current tactical/operational approaches, and began to formulate recommendations for leadership in the first responder community.  The Complex Attack White Paper, the initial product of the Think Tank, offers a concise summary of findings and recommendations.

LUF and GRA Maven Solution

Leadership Under Fire and GRA Maven both strongly believe it is imperative that the American fire service develops the capability to operate in the complex attack threat environment.  Practical solutions to this complex threat will not be developed within the institutional confines of the American fire service and will require the synthesis of ideas and experience from forward-thinking leaders and seasoned operators in law enforcement and the U.S. military.  Additionally, it is critical that military and law enforcement units thoroughly evaluate their complex attack capability set.  Leadership Under Fire and GRA Maven are committed to helping response agencies to develop this critical capability set.  Our combined service offerings provide actionable solutions to the deficiencies identified in the Think Tank White Paper.  Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time if we can be of assistance.
